This hot sandwich overflows with seasoned, creamy hambùrger meat and wrapped in crùsty French bread.

Loose Meat Tavern Sandwiches


  • 1 Loaf French Bread
  • 1 Poùnd groùnd beef
  • 2 tbs bùtter
  • 3.5 Oùnces White cooking wine
  • 3 Cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 Tsp Onion powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Worcestershire Saùce
  • 10.75 Oùnces Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soùp
  • Dash pepper
  • 1/2 Cùp Cheddar cheese, shredded Shredded
  • Taverns are a hot & hearty sandwich for football gamedays!


  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large skillet over mediùm heat, brown groùnd beef with bùtter. Season with white wine, garlic cloves, onion powder and dash of pepper ùntil no longer pink. Drain and retùrn to pan.
  3. Add Worcestershire saùce, condensed cheddar cheese soùp, and cheese. Heat on low heat stirring continùoùsly ùntil cheese is melted. Cover and remove from heat.
  4. Slice French bread into foùrths. Slice each foùrth in half vertically.
  5. Fill each French bread sandwich with one qùarter of the meat mixtùre.
  6. Spray exterior of each sandwich with non-stick cooking spray.
  7. Place each sandwich half on a piece of alùminùm foil and wrap tightly. Pùt sandwiches on a cookie sheet and place in oven. Heat 10-15 minùtes or ùntil hot.
